What we do

Care that starts with listening.

A complete audiology practice — from your first hearing test to long-term hearing aid care. Most appointments take 60 minutes because rushing this work doesn't help anyone.

Comprehensive hearing evaluation

A full diagnostic workup — pure-tone, speech discrimination, tympanometry, and otoacoustic emissions. We send your audiogram with a plain-English letter explaining what we found.

60 min · $185 · most insurance covers

Hearing aid fitting & programming

We work with every major manufacturer (Phonak, Oticon, Widex, Signia, Starkey) and fit you with what's right for your hearing, your lifestyle, and your budget — not what's in the back room.

90 min · 60-day trial period included

Tinnitus evaluation & management

Ringing in the ears can be exhausting. We offer evidence-based tinnitus assessment and a stepped-care plan — sound therapy, hearing aid integration, and counseling support.

75 min consultation · $225

Pediatric hearing screening

School-age and teen hearing tests, including evaluation for auditory processing concerns. Quiet, calm room. We work with your pediatrician and your child's school directly.

45 min · $145 · in-network billing

Hearing protection & custom earpieces

Musician's plugs, swim molds, sleep plugs, in-ear monitor molds. Custom impressions made in-office, manufactured by Westone or Sensaphonics.

30 min impression visit · 2-week turnaround

Hearing aid repair & service

In-office cleanings, tube replacements, dome changes, programming updates. Walk-in service for existing patients — no appointment needed for cleanings.

About the practice

Independent for a reason.

Eastside Hearing has been independent since I opened in 2003. That means the only person I answer to is the patient sitting across from me — not a chain's quarterly numbers, not a manufacturer's quota, not a parent company's preferred-vendor list.

It also means we have time. A first appointment here is an hour because that's how long it takes to do this work right: history, full audiogram, real conversation about what you're noticing and what you want from treatment.

If you've been frustrated by the experience at a chain — pushed toward devices that didn't help, or talked at instead of listened to — I'd be happy to give you a second opinion.

What our patients say.

★★★★★

"Dr. Chen took two hours with me at my first visit. Two hours. I'd been to a chain before that pushed $7,000 hearing aids on me after a 20-minute test. She explained that I had mild loss in one ear and didn't need aids yet — just an annual check. Saved me thousands and earned a patient for life."

"My mother is 87 and was terrified of getting hearing aids. Dr. Chen was so patient with her. She fit her with simple devices, taught her how to use them step by step, and called the next week to check in. My mom is a different person now. She joined her book club again."

★★★★★

"I have severe tinnitus and most audiologists I'd seen brushed it off. Dr. Chen was the first one to take it seriously and put together a real plan — sound therapy, hearing aids with a tinnitus masker built in, and a referral to a CBT therapist who works with chronic tinnitus. The ringing isn't gone but my life is back."
